Do I have to move to the marketplace, or can I keep just a directory listing?
The directory is retiring in August 2026, and is no longer accepting new listings. After that date, all directory traffic redirects to the marketplace, so a marketplace profile is the only way to keep your visibility on Althea going forward.
How do I submit my experience and/or profile listing for the marketplace?
Remember to get set up on payments first! Follow instructions here. Step 3 has the form for experiences, center profiles, and facilitator profiles.
Why do I need to get approved before payments before listing on the Marketplace?
This allows you to get paid out when someone books with you. The only other way to make this work is if Althea operated as the middleman, but alas that would not be compliant, and it would mean delays for payments to you. This keeps everything in compliance and means you get paid out sooner.
Can I pay a flat annual fee instead of the 15% booking fee?
We want to align our revenue structure with a nascent, but growing market. The best way to do that is to only get paid when you get paid. The marketplace runs on a single model: ~15% of the session price, charged only when a booking is confirmed, with no deposit or monthly cost. We built it this way so our incentives stay aligned with yours. We only earn when you get booked.
Why do I need to submit bank statements for the payments application?
That requirement comes from Kurv, our payment processor, not from Althea. It's standard identity and account verification (KYC) that any processor requires before approving a merchant account. Your bank details go directly to them, not into Althea's systems.
Is the "practice management app" the same thing as the marketplace?
Yes and no. The Althea app is a single system that now includes practice management (compliance, client tracking, scheduling, payments) and your marketplace presence together (marketing, profiles, education, booking). There isn't a separate app to manage. This is just one way the marketplace is better than the directory.
Should I apply for payments as a center or as an individual facilitator?
If you're a solo practitioner, a facilitator-level application is usually simplest. If you run a center with multiple practitioners, apply as a center so payments and invoicing are centralized. If you're unsure, contact support before starting the application.
If you are a center operator and facilitator, you can get approved as a center and as a facilitator. You should do this if you generally use a different bank account for clients you facilitate vs. the center you run.
What happens to my reviews when I move to the marketplace?
They come with you. Reviews are exported from the directory and displayed on your marketplace facilitator or center page with their original date, aggregated across all your listings. That is now done!
My directory account used a different email address. Can I merge accounts?
Yes, in most cases. Reach out to support with proof of ownership of the original account (for example, a screenshot of emails sent from that address) and we'll get it consolidated.
What if I haven't heard back after submitting my listing or agreement?
Please allow us a bit of lag to get it up, but if it's been more than 10 business days, reach out to support ([email protected]) directly rather than waiting. We're doing concierge onboarding, but with the volume of the transition, some things take a personal nudge to move forward. Once we are over the initial hump, we'll get quicker!
